How Do I Delete Archived Facebook Messages: Your Facebook messenger might be getting crammed with messages or you probably just want to let go of some of your  messages by deleting them.You can delete a single message at a time from Facebook messenger, on both the mobile app version of Messenger and the desktop version of Messenger, but you wont be able to delete multiple messages at once. 

If you delete a message, you would have only removed it from your end of the conversation; the other person (or people) in the conversation will still be able to see the message unless they delete it too.

How Do I Delete Archived Facebook Messages

On Mobile

• From Facebook app in your app drawer, log in to Facebook.
• Select a conversation that contains the message you would want to delete. If the conversation is an old one, you may need to scroll down.
• Tap and hold a message the message you want to delete.A menu will pop up. 
• On iPhone, this menu can be found at the bottom of the screen, while Android users will see a menu window in the middle of the screen. 
• Tap Delete. It's an option in the menu. 
• Tap Delete when prompted. This deletes the message from your end of the conversation, though the person (or people) with whom the conversation is will still be able to see the message. 

Delete an entire conversation. If you just want to delete an entire conversation on mobile, do the following: 

1. Find a conversation that you want to delete. 
2. Tap and hold the conversation until a pop-up menu appears. 
3. Tap Delete Conversation (iPhone) or Delete (Android). 
4. Tap Delete Conversation when prompted.

On Desktop

• Open Facebook on you browser and log in.
• Click the "Messenger" icon.You'll find this in the upper-right side of the Facebook page. A drop-down menu will appear. 
• Next, lick See All in Messenger. This link is in the bottom-left corner of the drop-down menu. Doing so opens the Facebook Messenger web app. 
• Select a conversation. Find the conversation that contains messages which you want to delete, then click the conversation. 
• You may have to scroll down the left-hand column of conversations to find an old conversation. 
• Hover your mouse cursor over a message you would want to delete.Upon hovering over the message, you should see a smiley face icon and a triple-dot icon appear next to the message. 
• Click ⋯. It's to the right of a message sent to you, or to the left of a message that you sent. You should see a pop-up option appear. 
• Click Delete. This is the pop-up option next to the ⋯ icon. 
• Click Delete when prompted. It's a red button. This will remove the message from your side of the conversation, though the person (or people) with whom the conversation is will still be able to see the message. 

To delete an entire conversation. If you just want to delete an entire conversation, do the following: 

Select the conversation. 

1. Click the gear-shaped icon in the upper-right side of the conversation. 
2. You may need to first click the ⓘ "i" icon on the right. 
3. Click Delete in the drop-down menu. 
4. Click Delete when prompted.
