Steps to Unfriend Someone on Facebook.

• You can start with an internet browser such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Firefox and go to the official Facebook website. If you're not logged in to your Facebook account, then you will have to do so. You can alternatively open the official Facebook app on your iOS ,  Android smartphone or tablet.
• To find the friend you wish to unfriend, type their name in the search bar at the top of the Facebook website or app. Tap on their name, this leads you to their Facebook profile page.
• At the top of their profile is a button called Friends with a checkmark on it. Tap on this button.
• You will now be presented with a new menu of options. 
• Find the option that says Unfriend and click on it and that would be all.

After you have unfriended someone, and at some point, you would want to have them back as friends, you will then have to send a request to them. But if you never come to this resolve, you might as well keep enjoying the peace you found.
