Learn How to View Facebook Notifications: Facebook usually would send you notifications of activities that concerns you such as tags, comments, or group activity. To check your notifications, you will need to log into your Facebook account, opening the notifications menu, and then selecting individual notifications or viewing the entire archive. These basic steps would guide you in turning on your Facebook notifications and in viewing your notifications.
How to View Facebook Notifications
On Mobile
- Open the Facebook app.
- Login to the Facebook app. Enter your email and password into the corresponding fields. The tap “Log in” to continue.
- Tap the globe icon. This icon can be found at the bottom of your screen and has text under it which reads “Notifications”. This will open a list of your notifications.
On the bottom bar are 3 icons with red indicators if you have unread information. The ‘people’ icon lists friend requests, the ‘chat box’ icon lists messages, and the ‘globe’ icon lists general notifications.
There is currently no way to mark a notification as read on the mobile app without viewing it.
- Swipe up to scroll. With this you can browse through your notifications history. At the top of the list, are the most recent notifications.
On Desktop
- Sign into your Facebook account. Navigate to Facebook with your web browser and enter your email address and password into the corresponding fields. Press “Log in” to complete.
- Click the globe icon. This will open a drop-down list of recent notifications.

You can also clear your notification flag by clicking “Mark as read” at the top of the drop-down.
- Lastly, click See All. This is found at the bottom of the notification drop-down, clicking this will bring you to a list of all the notifications that Facebook has saved for you.
Get the Notifications you want on Facebook
- Find “Settings” at the top of your Facebook home page
- Click “Notifications” on the left. This allows you to access settings for notifications of all types which includes: email notifications, push notifications on your phone, app requests and notifications, group notifications, close friend notifications, pop-up notifications, or event notifications.
- Follow prompts to enable the notifications you would want to receive.
Notifications feed you in on happenings you would have probably missed, share tips with your friends as well.
